Fantastically located in the countryside

The Hotel Frohe Aussicht lives up to its name: Beautifully located on the outskirts of Schwende, offers hotel guests and visitors in all directions an enchanting view of the Alpstein area. Around the Alpstein is one of the most popular hiking regions in eastern Switzerland. From Schwende you can reach Appenzell by car in just 10 minutes or by bike in 20 minutes. Only about 300m from the Hotel is the station of the Appenzellerbahn. (Train)

Harmonious retreat oases with a special view that reflect the nature and the Appenzellerland. The Hotel comprises a total of 16 rooms spread over 2 floors (12 doubles and 4 singles). We offer bed and breakfast or half board (in addition to a 4-course dinner).

The hotel kitchen regularly offers culinary theme weeks. Here you can enjoy delicious regional specialties, fish, game and mushroom dishes, as well as fine wines from the well-stocked wine cellar of our hotel.

Homemade jams and yoghurt as well as typical regional products from the Appenzell region (bread, sausage, butter, cheese, eggs and milk) characterize the breakfast at the Hotel Frohe Aussicht. Quality and freshness of the processed products is very important to us. We have been working together for years with quality-conscious and predominantly regional partners and are proud of the good cooperation.
